TAMPA, Fla., March 16, 2021 /PRNewswire/ A commercial cleaning company based in The Big Guava, servicing locations throughout central Florida, opened its new headquarters on February 26 of this year. To give back to the people and celebrate the people who have been so wonderful, Mega Service Solutions donated $2,500 to United Way Suncoast.
United Way Suncoast, Luis Visot, Senior Director, and Kari Goetz, Chief Advancement Officer received a $2,500 check from Mega Service Solutions, Eddie Mejia, President, and John Mejia, Chief Executive Officer.
United Way Suncoast gets $20 million gift from MacKenzie Scott
United Way Suncoast, which serves a five-county area that includes Sarasota and Manatee, is receiving $20 million, the largest gift in its history, from philanthropist MacKenzie Scott, officials announced Wednesday.
Scott, the former wife of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, announced in a Medium.com post Tuesday that she has given nearly $4.2 billion to 384 organizations in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and Washington, D.C., in the last four months. This year, she has donated $6 billion to different nonprofits.
Easterseals Southwest Florida, based in Sarasota, and Meals on Wheels PLUS of Manatee are also among the organizations receiving contributions from Scott, but she did not state the specific amounts in her post.
