Make sanitary pads free - students beg Federal, State Governments

Female students of Government Girls Secondary School (GGSS) in Minna, Niger State have begged both the federal and state governments to provide free sanitary pads for secondary school girls. According to some of the girls, the inability to purchase the pads during their menstrual period had forced them to resort to the use of clothes and tissues. They made the appeal after a ‘Pad A Girl’ Campaign organized by Media Mentors Network in collaboration with Succeeding Against All Odds and Niger State chapter of the Network of Reproductive Health Journalists of Nigeria (NRHJN) to commemorate the World Menstrual Hygiene Day.
