This week, the Denver Center for the Performing Arts launched a new podcast that combines history and storytelling, and allows audiences to participate at their comfort level.

It was a late-summer night in 2013, and I was bleary-eyed and hangry after making the cross-country move from Indianapolis in my filled-to-the-brim sedan. As I rounded the I-25 exit ramp onto Colfax, the twinkling downtown skyline came into focus and my exhaustion turned to glee. Only now, it’s much bigger and denser. In such a short period of time, the cityscape has shape-shifted to accommodate an influx of new development, fellow transplants, and new businesses.

Colorado and regional organizations getting funds included Western States Art Federation and Colorado Creative Industries, which will dole out the money statewide. “These funds are designed to support the arts sector as it recovers from the devastating impact of the COVID-19 pandemic,” NEA officials wrote in a press statement. “Guidelines and application materials for a second phase of American Rescue Plan funding … are expected to be available in June 2021 pending review.”
