La Liga giants Real Madrid s long wait to return back to the Santiago Bernabeu may yet take longer and it could see them adopt a surprising home ground for some time, Atletico Madrid s Wanda Metropolitano.
In the latest stage of Madrid s Operation Return to the Bernabeu , Los Blancos have enquired about playing at the home ground of Atletico in order to accommodate between 20,000 and 30,000 fans returning to stadiums next season onwards.
The Santiago Bernabeu stadium has not been used since March 2, 2020 and Real s current stadium, the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano will not be able to host many fans due to it s smaller capacity, thus forcing Los Blancos hand at requesting Atletico to share their home ground temporarily.
The budding friendship between Kylian Mbappe and Karim Benzema is something that brings a lot of hope and excitement to Real Madrid fans.
Since the Real Madrid forward was recall
Zidane, Ancelotti’s then-assistant, was touted to take over but Rafa Benitez was installed for an ill-fated stint at the start of the 2015-16 season. By January 4, he had been sacked and Zidane ascended to the throne, driving Madrid on to three consecutive Champions League triumphs.
The Frenchman walked away in 2018 only to return less than a year later, after Julen Lopetegui and Santiago Solari had been chewed up and spat out by club president Florentio Perez.
Wary of appointing unknowns, not in the football world, but new faces to Madrid, Perez turned back to comfort and security, plucking the avuncular Ancelotti from Everton and restoring him to the position he would rather have kept six years ago.
Following Carlo Ancelotti's reappointment as Real Madrid manager, here is a look at every coach who has enjoyed more than one spell at the Santiago Bernabeu.
