Gary s owners Rita and Dipak Patel plan to retire. We had a good time, we really had a good time for 20 years, Rita Patel said on Wednesday.
The Route 1 Bypass and Bridge Street stores – highly-trafficked destinations for craft beer, wine, cigarettes and lottery tickets – have new signage and are already operating under the ownership. The City has eight other locations in New Hampshire and Maine.
Rita and Dipak Patel operated Gary s Beverages in its original location on Deer Street for 15 years beginning in 2001. The building was ultimately demolished to make way for a city parking garage.
As a result, in 2016, the Patels opened two new Gary s locations – on the Route 1 Bypass in the former Mama D s restaurant building and downtown at 78 Bridge Street.
