Some families in the Rio Grande Valley are still stuck inside their homes with nowhere else to go after this week s flooding.
Mission resident Rebecca Rodriguez said the floodwater covered the entire back portion of her family s home. The water has feces, Rodriguez said. It s coming out with water spiders; they have eggs on their backs [there are] water snakes.
As the water continues to rise, so do the family s worries.
Residents are urging county leaders to help, adding that many families in the area have nowhere else to go.

A look inside The Post in the Heights.
Say hello to The Post Beer & Wine Garden, a new concept announcing itself with a unique wine list and big-ticket, beefy entrées in the former Oriente Bar at 6417 N. Main St. in The Heights.
The Post comes from Tashi Garciaâwho ran Chapman House Smoked Means, did pop-ups throughout the city, and was a sommelier and wine buyer at Smith & Wollensky sâand his fiancée, Rebecca Rodriguez. The couple is offering mostly old-world wines and craft beer, plus a food menu that includes massive, wet-aged steak dishes like a 40-ounce tomahawk, 20-ounce bone-in ribeye, and New York strip. Garcia prepares each steak over a wood-fire grill, then serves them with sides like brussel sprouts and macaroni and cheese in béchamel.Â
