As many as 15 industrial associations from Rajkot, Morbi and Kutch represented their issues RAJKOT: The first open house involving top state officials and local industries of Saurashtra and Kutch was held in Lodhika GIDC on Thursday with an aim to provide solutions to several important issues pertaining to the small and medium-scale units of the region. As many as 15 industrial associations from Rajkot, Morbi and Federation of Kutch Industries Association (FOKIA) represented their issues to the team that comprised of industries commissioner Rahul Gupta, GIDC vice-chairman and MD M Thennarasan, GPCB member secretary AV Shah and others. Vaccination in Rajkot Rajkot: Rajkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) has urged chief minister Vijay Rupani to allow relaxation to traders from the lockdown. The industry body made representation to the CM after meeting with 23 trade associations demanding that shops be allowed to be open from 8 am to 3 pm in Rajkot. The apex body of trade and industry in Saurashtra also mentioned that the government should do this to ease the financial distress faced by traders on account of Covid-induced slowdown. The letter was written to CM after meeting with Rajkot Gold Dealers Association, Rajkot Danapith Vepari Association, Rajkot Electronic Traders Association, Imitation Jewellery Association, Gundavadi, Dharmendra road, Lakhajiraj and Kothariya naka traders’ association.

Long queue of migrant workers in Rajkot Rajkot: Fear of lockdown last year has once again come to haunt the migrant workers in Rajkot. Many have started planning to go back to their native apprehending the lockdown. Long queue of migrant workers has been witnessed since past few days at the Rajkot railway station. According to railway sources, the trains going towards Muzaffarpur, Patna, Varanasi, Gorakhpur were overcrowded. Those leaving the city include some working in Rajkot’s engineering industry and construction sites. Parth Ganatra, vice president of Rajkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) said, “Migrant workers are afraid of lockdown and because of that some have left for their native. The chief minister and Prime Minister should appeal to these workers that there was no planning lockdown and workers need not panic.”
