Rates are likely going up in the near future on your bills from Louisville Gas & Electric and Kentucky Utilities. But if there s a silver lining, it could have been worse.
Louisville Metro and other groups that opposed the energy companies initial rate increase proposal since it was filed last year reached a settlement with LG&E and KU late Monday afternoon. The deal came a week ahead of a hearing with the Kentucky Public Service Commission, which will approve or deny the bid, and the new rates could be in effect this summer.
While Jefferson County Attorney Mike O Connell called the settlement a win for everyone in Louisville, the deal will still have an impact on anyone in the city who pays an electric bill which, last time we checked, covers a significant number of people. CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - A new app can detect fake IDâs in seconds.
Itâs one way Missouriâs Division of Alcohol and Tobacco Control hopes to crack down on underage drinking while driving to make the roads safer for all drivers.
âJust having it right there at your fingertips is perfect,â said Parker Bond, a bartender and sales representative at Cask in Cape Girardeau. âI definitely think itâd be helpful, especially in times where youâre really busy and youâre having to riffle through a lot of IDs.â
There s a way to get vaccinated fast, though.
Patients often miss their appointments and providers are able to pull more vaccine than planned out of vials, leaving leftover doses that need to be used before they expire. Luckily, each vaccine provider in Knox County has been able to give the extra shots to someone nearby, and not a single dose has gone to waste because an arm wasn t available.
Some do that by using standby lists.
