A small wooden cabinet erected just outside of First United Methodist Church in Bertram is seen by locals as a blessing to the community, which is why they call it a blessing box.
The Bertram Blessing Box, at 115 North St., provides food around the clock as the Bertram Food Pantry is only open from 1-3 p.m. and 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursdays. The food pantry is located at 520 Texas 29 East.

For various reasons, Desperate Housewives had become widely popular as an American television series. The television series had been deeply attached to its Christian catholic roots, with the presence of a mother like Bree Van De Camp. Gabriel had been the representation of the woman of colour who achieved her American dream. Susan became the hopelessly romantic American girl who never gave up, and Lynette Scavo represented the efficient working mother, who knew how to get things done, without anyone coming in her way.
Catherine J. Kasulke, 72, of Clinton Street, Watertown, passed away May 5, 2021, at the home of her beloved caregivers, Sarah and Matt Marino.
She was born March 11, 1949, in Queens, NY, the daughter of Maurice and Theresa (Godich) OâConnell.
Catherine graduated from The Academy of Mount St. Ursula in the Bronx in 1967. She then attended Thomas More College (now Fordham University), where she received her Bachelor of Science in Biology and Education. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSRN) at Columbia Universityâs College of Nursing in New York City and her Master of Arts in Nursing (MAN) from New York University in 1976.
