Heather Ussery has been named the new Knoxville City Manager, Mayor Brian Hatch announced Tuesday evening. Hatch tells KNIA/KRLS News that the city is fortunate to have such a qualified and impressive group of candidates. After serving in the interim position for the last seven months, city staff are excited to now have Heather lead our community into the future.
Ussery has served in numerous roles for the city. She was previously the Assistant City Manager, and has served in the interim role as City Manager since Aaron Adams’ departure in January.

The first “Catch Up With Knoxville” session is tomorrow at the Knoxville Public Library. Director Roslin Thompson says this program will give citizens the opportunity to visit with Mayor Brian Hatch and other city officials on a regular basis.
“Mayor Hatch will be here. City staff are planning to make this a regular thing. Mayor Hatch and other officials will have “Catch Up With Knoxville” sessions, where interested citizens can come and just chat about things of concern in Knoxville. We’re happy to provide the space. The library will be open at 9:00. People can come in, have coffee with the mayor, and talk about things of interest.”
