BELLUNO. «Abbiamo affrontato un triennio devastante, ma non abbiamo mollato mai». Il sindaco di Belluno, Jacopo Massaro, risponde a chi lo accusa di un calo di tensione da fine mandato, tanto da aver perso di vista le priorità cittadine. Il congelamento della mostra di Tiziano è solo l’ultimo oggetto della discordia, con attacchi arrivati anche dall’interno.
1921: ‘Hands off Thornden!’ Syracuse rallies to preserve its city park from building project

The interior of the amphitheater at Thornden Park in Syracuse. The park is the second largest in the city built around 1921 after a purchase from a wealthy land owner. The park has Swimming pool (50 m), One multi-purpose field,five tennis courts,three basketball courts a playground a fitness trail the E.M. Mills Memorial Rose Garden an outdoor amphitheatre, and a Lily pond.

On Dec. 13, 1921, the city of Syracuse officially purchased a large plot of land on the city’s east side.
The Galt Public Safety Committee at a May 3 special meeting brainstormed ways to confront dangerous driving on city streets. Consensus formed around expanding an existing reporting system.
Van Wert independent
Local businessman and former two-term Van Wert mayor Don Farmer died Tuesday at a Fort Wayne, Indiana, hospice center. He was 82.

Farmer, a Pennsylvania native, later moved to California, where he graduated from Fresno High School and earned a business degree from Los Angeles State College.
He later moved to Van Wert, where he owned and operated Mac’s Delicatessen and The Paint Bucket, as well as PAVE Communications.
Farmer served two non-consecutive four-year terms as mayor, from 2004-2007 and from 2012-2015. He also served several terms on Van Wert City Council, representing the First and Second Wards and as an at-large councilman.
