TAMPA, Fla. (KLKN) Former Husker linebacker Lavonte David is reportedly receiving a two-year contract with the defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Bucs.
The #Bucs are keeping one of their own: Tampa Bay has agreed to terms with star LB Lavonte David on a 2-year contract extension worth $25M, sources say. On the brink of free agency, David stays home.
David’s deal is worth $25 million, according to Ian Rapoport.
David has more than 1,100 tackles in his nine-year career along with 24 sacks and 12 interceptions.
At Nebraska, David completed one of the most impressive two-year careers in Nebraska football history with an All-America season in 2011. David had a banner year as a senior in 2011, making his mark as one of the top linebackers in the nation and one of the top defensive players in Husker history.
