Dr. Rommel Tickoo, Director, Internal Medicine, Max Healthcare explains the correct way to re-use masks in the fight against COVID-19. He recommends washing cloth masks daily and reusing N-95 at a gap of a few days.
But you ll probably continue to see people wearing them.
Dr. Christine Nefcy, Munson Healthcare s chief of medicine, spoke during Munson s regularly scheduled press conference about masks and when people might decide to wear them.
For now, facemasks are still required indoors for people who are not vaccinated. And even vaccinated people may be required to mask-up in certain businesses or establishments; for example, Munson Healthcare is still having everybody wear masks.
Others may be choosing to mask up for their own reasons. Some vaccinated people may still be masking because they are immunocompromised, Dr. Nefcy said. We do have people in our communities that cannot yet receive the vaccine â children would be a good example of that â and then we have other people with other medical problems that prevent them from getting vaccinated. And so there are a lot of people who feel a responsibility to remain masked around those types of people.
Maine House Speaker Replaces Republicans on Committees Over Mask Rule Violation
The speaker of the Maine House of Representatives this week stripped seven conservatives of their committee assignments, replacing them with Democrats.
House Speaker Ryan Fecteau, a Democrat, made the move after the group, comprised of six GOP lawmakers and a Libertarian, entered the state Capitol without masks.
Video footage posted by one of the legislators, state Rep. Laurel Libby, showed law enforcement stopping the group just inside the entrance.
“In order to be in legislative space, your leadership said that you need to wear a mask. So we are asking you to wear a mask beyond this point,” one officer said.
“Our primary goal is to provide our customers with the very best customer experience for their custom picture framing and digital service’s needs. It’s not about requiring proof of vaccination,” said Todd Dow, Operations Manager at High Desert Frameworks. “It is unfortunate that the State has taken the approach of placing the business in a position to be an enforcer. Until the Oregon Health Authority and Oregon OSHA [Occupational Health and Safety Administration] provide more guidance, clarity to the mask mandate or change the mandates, we request all customers, regardless of vaccination status, to wear a mask inside our store and while interacting with our staff,” Dow said.
