But now it seems people have discovered Milford, as the tweaked website is getting lots of organic traffic with visitors returning in droves to this city with 17 miles of shoreline, a public marina steps from the quaint downtown full of restaurants and shops, as well as destination summer events such as the Milford Oyster Festival, officials say.

Candidate forums scheduled ahead of Milford election The Milford Daily News MILFORD The nonpartisan resident group Citizens for Milford will hold candidate forums next month for four of the five contested races in the April 6 local election. There are 15 elected jobs up for grabs in local government. School Committee, moderator, Parks Commission, Board of Assessors and library trustees all collected enough candidates for races. The three people running for two available library trustee terms declined a candidate forum, but Citizens for Milford will devote an evening to each of the remaining four races. “Providing information to voters during our Town Election season is an ongoing commitment for Citizens for Milford,” organization Chairperson Geri Eddins said in a press release. “With the Town Election slated for April 6, we are pleased to continue our tradition of hosting Candidate Forum events. January 29, 2021 More outdoor dining options are anticipated in Downtown Milford. With the help of Oakland County and unanimous approval from the Milford Village Council, the Milford Downtown Development Authority was able to secure five igloos and five winterized greenhouses to help support outdoor dining this winter. Grant funds also supported around 50 heaters and propane tanks. DDA Executive Director Ann Barnette provided an update in a recent online newsletter. She said the summer dining platforms on Main Street are being re-installed, commenting that restaurant owners did not anticipate how many people would be willing to sit outside to eat. She says people may soon see a few more igloos, firepits, heaters and bundled-up patrons while visiting downtown. Starting next week, restaurants locally and across the state can begin re-opening at 25% occupancy. Barnette noted that many retailers have expressed how grateful they are for their longtime custome
