FM: No country has requested information about the Ryanair incident from Belarus so far

MINSK, 24 May (BelTA) – Not a single country has requested information about the Ryanair aircraft incident from Belarus so far, BelTA learned from Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei on 24 May.
The official said: “We are ready to provide any data relating to this incident with the Ryanair aircraft. We are ready to transparently investigate this incident including with assistance of the relevant international specialists. But no country of the European Union, not a single Western country has requested information about the incident from Belarus as far as I know at the moment. But they have managed to make probably hundreds of political statements containing not only accusations but open threats aimed at Belarus. It is absolutely unacceptable. It is what can be described as a new geopolitical order in action.”
The plane was supposed to fly to Frankfurt.
As Belsat reports, at the Minsk National Airport, all passengers were dropped from the Lufthansa plane to re-inspect their belongings. The flight was to take off at 14:20 to Frankfurt.

Belarus aviation authorities: No notification from Lithuania about flight restrictions

MINSK, 24 May (BelTA) – Lithuania has not notified Minsk about its decision to introduce flights restrictions over Belarus airspace, Artyom Sikorsky, director of the Aviation Department at the of Transport and Communications Ministry, told reporters, BelTA has learned. Lithuania has not notified the official Minsk about these restrictions, Artyom Sikorsky said. “On the other hand, we regret that our colleagues make emotion-driven decisions without waiting for the final findings of investigations. The preliminary information has been sent to ICAO, the aviation administrations of the registration states and the state operating aircraft. If the Lithuania aviation authorities and, first of all, aviation security specialists are interested in clarifying this situation here, on the spot, we invite them to come to Minsk.
