IGP: Police receive 206 reports relating to opposition MPs gathering

Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani (pic) said an investigation paper had been opened for all the reports lodged and the individuals involved would be called to have their statement recorded. As such, the police urge all individuals involved in the gathering to cooperate to facilitate the ongoing investigations. The case is being investigated under Regulation 9 and Regulation 10 of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures within Infected Local Areas) (Recovery Movement Control) 2021 (PU (A) 293) Regulations, Section 21A of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988 (Act 342), Section 269 of the Penal Code (Act 574) and also Section 9 (5) of the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012 (Act 736),” he said in a statement on Tuesday (Aug 3) night.
