First homes completed at £16m Ebbw Vale development

Ebbw Vale man jailed for threat to blow up mosque in Gwent

Robert Armstrong, 45, called 999 on November 24 while walking along Steelworks Road, in Ebbw Vale. Blaenau Gwent council chief to oversee 2021 Senedd election

The South Wales East region covers eight constituencies. They are Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Islwyn, Merthyr Tydfil and Rhymney, Monmouth, Newport East, Newport West and Torfaen. Welsh Government minister Ms James said: “I would like to thank those who have agreed to take on the role of regional returning officers for this year’s Senedd Cymru elections. “These elections will be particularly challenging as they are combined with the Police and Crime Commissioner elections but, more importantly, they will be the first Senedd elections for the newly enfranchised group of young people and qualifying foreign nationals. “There is also the additional challenge of ensuring the election can be run safely in light of the on-going pandemic. This is a significant personal commitment for those who have agreed to take on this role and I am grateful we will have the benefit of their knowledge and experience.”

The deputy minister for housing and local government, Hannah Blythyn welcomed the renovation. “This building has real historical significance and its renovation will benefit the local community, act as a community hub, and increase footfall to the town centre,” she said Completed over three years, the building will be used as an open access multi-functional space for educational classes, training, seminars, meetings, and include a heritage centre which will tell the story of the building.
