For Children’s Sake (FCS) needs
Foster Parents to open their home and help youth in the community. FCS trains and supports all families ongoing before, during and after foster youth are in your home. FCS serves youth from birth until their 21st birthday, but the biggest need at this time are homes for youth ages 10-17. If you are interested in learning more about either short term or long term foster care or adoption, please reach out to Kelley atkwillis@fcsva.org.

Greetings, Prince William – if you are fluent in English and Spanish, the Prince William County Office of Emergency Management wants to hear from you!
They need Spanish-English Interpreters at the Manassas Mall COVID vaccination site, 8300 Sudley Road, Manassas 20109. The site is located inside the mall, near Uptown Alley. Volunteers are needed weekdays, 9 am to 4 pm. It’s a great way to help our Spanish-speaking residents receive critical information on this life-saving vaccine! The former Global Learning and Culturally Responsive Instruction Supervisor for Prince William County Public Schools (PWCS) Office of Professional Development was among the 43 applicants from 14 states, according to a release from the Prince William County Office of Communications

In her new role, Burgos will run the new office, which is going to be responsible for leading diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives in Prince William County departments. The office will also diversify the workforce, create training, and address problems in the community.
Developing a diversity, equity and inclusion plan and vision are also among Burgos duties, according to the Office of Communications.

The Prince William County Office of Tourism–Visit Prince William–launched a romance-themed promotion through its ‘Passport to Prince William’ digital passport today.
The ‘Sweetest Deals’ savings pass offers discounts at businesses throughout the County including restaurants, wineries, hotels, attractions, and more.
The digital passport is free for both users and businesses and is supported by a ‘spend local’ advertising campaign designed to support the economy and spending at County businesses.

The coronavirus pandemic continues to hurt the hotel industry in Prince William County.
The county’s hotel occupancy spiked a bit in October but has fallen into a slump, exasperated by the lack of traveling this holiday season due to the coronavirus pandemic.
According to the Prince William County Economic Development Authority, hotel stays increased slightly in October 2020 as occupancy rates averaged 54.3%, up from 53% in the previous month. Over the holidays, however, hotel traffic slowed down. According to the same report from the Economic Development office, transient occupancy tax collections a tax paid by hotel guests are down nearly $300,000 in the third quarter of 2020 compared to the last quarter.
