In 2019 they had awarded six such grants and in 2020 had awarded three grants, two of which were completed. They are receiving applications for 2021 and have extended the deadline to the end of May. As well, they are continuing with the Art Alley project downtown. The latest is a mural painted on the side of Battle River Treaty 6 Health Centre. Lavertu said the artist spent 187 hours creating that particular mural. A call is out to artists who might be interested in doing more Art Alley projects downtown.

Street closure on 12th Ave between 101st-102nd

The city of North Battleford is reporting there is a street closure today along the western half of 12th Ave. between 101st and 102nd Street. The street is closed with no through traffic. The reason is for the lifting a generator into the roof of Battle River Treaty 6 Health Centre. article continues below

Battle River Treaty 6 to receive COVID-19 vaccines this week

The vaccines will be administered to those most at risk, starting with elders age 70 and over. This will be for the first dose of the vaccine; people will be notified on when they will receive the second dose. As availability increases for the vaccines, age groups and at-risk population will be expanded. Those who have had COVID-19 in the previous 90 days are asked to hold off on getting the vaccine for now. Nursing staff were to contact community members to make appointments and assessments prior to coming to the clinic.
