South Bay leaders are gathering at San Jose City Hall on Saturday morning to stand against the rise in hate crimes and discrimination against the Asian community.
The Stop AAPI (Asian American and Pacific Islander) Hate rally is hosted by Assemblyman Evan Low, D-Campbell, and San Jose City Councilmember Pam Foley.
At 11 a.m. Saturday, local leaders including State Sen. Dave Cortese, San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo and Santa Clara County supervisors Joe Simitian and Susan Ellenberg will join the rally at the San Jose City Hall Rotunda.

Jeremy Lin Says He s Not Naming Or Shaming Person Who Called Him Coronavirus
There are other ways to combat racism, he explained in a Twitter post.
A day after basketball officials launched an investigation into guard Jeremy Lin’s complaint that he was called “coronavirus” on court, Lin said he’s not “naming or shaming” the individual.
“I know this will disappoint some of you but I’m not naming or shaming anyone,” he wrote on Twitter Saturday.
“What good does it do in this situation for someone to be torn down? It doesn’t make my community safer or solve any of our long-term problems with racism,” added Lin, who’s currently playing for the Santa Cruz Warriors in the NBA’s G League.
A 23-year-old has been charged with stabbing an Asian man in the back in New York City. He told detectives that he "didn’t like the way" the victim "looked at him."
