Reports surfaced noting that five California police officers filed a lawsuit against the city of Palo Alto, claiming that a ‘Black Lives Matter’ mural allegedly perpetuated anti-police practices. Along with that, the officers say the mural was discriminatory and aggressive.
The Black Lives Matter was placed across the street from City Hall in Palo Alto in June 2020, following the murder of George Floyd by Derek Chauvin in 2020. The mural was supposed to remain there for a year but was removed in November before the year was up.
