The Devils played 10 rookies during the 2020-21 campaign, with seven of them making their NHL debuts during the year. Though defenseman Ty Smith would most likely take the mantle for the team s Rookie of the Year, fellow novice Yegor Sharangovich would likely take the superlative of Most Surprising Rookie.
Smith, 21, entered the season with the pedigree of a first-round pick (17th overall) from the 2018 NHL Draft. In the same draft and 124 picks later (141st overall), the Devils selected Sharangovich, 22, in the fifth round.

YahNé Ndgo opened the rally outside the Penn Museum in Philadelphia April 28 by denouncing the University of Pennsylvania’s sadistic desecration of the remains of two young Black MOVE family members. Ndgo, representing Black Lives Matter Philadelphia, stated: “We can never forget the humanity of Black people, and we should never have to remind people of the value of our lives. Black and Brown bodies are not subjects for you to study. We are human beings, and our lives matter!”

Conjoined twin girls born at Philadelphia hospital: ‘We love them so much’

Conjoined twin baby girls, the daughters of an Alabama pastor and his wife, were successfully delivered Thursday morning at a Philadelphia hospital.
Susannah and Elizabeth Castle were born at 10:06 a.m. at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia to Stephanie and Dwight Castle, who is pastor of missions at Redeemer Community Church in Avondale. The girls, at Wednesday’s preop appointment, were weighing just under 5 pounds each.
“The girls are here!” the couple posted on Facebook. “Stephanie was an absolute champ and did awesome and is also recovering well. We are so thankful for a smooth delivery without any complications. Thank you, Jesus.”
