After a couple of hours of delays due to weather which also held up plans to conduct a first flight on Feb. 1 Boeing test pilot Matt “Phat” Giese took off from Lambert International Airport in St. Louis, Missouri, at approximately 1:57 p.m. EST.

Wright-Patterson Air Force Base personnel and local contractors are part of the team overseeing and developing the new jet, which took off and landed from St. Louis Lambert International Airport, completing a 90-minute test flight, Boeing reported. A test team monitoring the data collected during the flight in real time confirmed that the aircraft performed as planned,  Boeing said.
