We all know family quarrels can get messy. Factor in one too many G&Ts, an unlucky reminder of Auntie Maureen leaving all her money to her cat, and a snide comment about the feta and pumpkin tray bake, and you’ve got the ingredients for a volcanic eruption. But, as F Scott Fitzgerald wrote, the very rich are different from you and me. And so is royalty. Take the juiciest case to hit the Jersey courts for many a long year. This involves an Italian princess, a missing Gauguin painting, a family feud, a Cinecittà starlet and a fortune estimated at more than £200 million.

It takes some doing to get to Fiji but once you look up at a night sky full of the Southern Cross stars, feel the soft breeze, and the warm smiles of your hosts fill your heart, jet lag will evaporate or nearly.
