Roma Caffé and Bar welcomed to Point Richmond

Local and family-owned Roma Caffé and Bar opened in March and currently serves coffee, breakfast and lunch, and will soon be serving wine and craft beer, according to the City of Richmond, which highlighted to new shop in City Manager Laura Snideman’s latest newsletter. The business opened at 401 S. Garrard Blvd., former location of the Point Richmond Social Club, which had a brief stint at the location, having opened in spring 2019. Roma Caffé and Bar has already picked up positive reviews on Yelp! for its homemade foods, coffee, fresh-squeezed orange juice and overall decor.

On Thurs., May 6, the City of Richmond’s Planning Commission is set to review an application from Marlina Miller identified in an Agenda Report as the applicant and operator of The Grape Nest Wine Bar at 229 Tewksbury Ave. in Point Richmond for a Conditional Use Permit to serve alcohol at that location. It would be the first wine retail shop with tasting in the Point Richmond neighborhood, per the report. As its name suggests, plans are for The Grape Nest Wine Bar to operate as a wine retail shop and tasting room in a small, 200 sq. ft. commercial space facing Tewksbury Ave. Two counters and stools will be available for costumers and, in the future, plans are for tables and chairs to be placed outside the building in the rear area of the property, according to the report.

Marshawn Lynch s Point Richmond home for sale

Photos credited to Realtors.com Marshawn Lynch’s waterfront Point Richmond home is listed for sale for $5.275 million, according to Realtor.com and other online real estate listing sites. The legendary former NFL running back reportedly purchased the home for $3.6 million in 2012. The 5-bedroom, 5.5-bathroom, 7,039 square-foot home is located on an over 9,000 square-foot lot at 1456 Sandpiper Spit. It has two separate two-car garages and features a game room and media room and bedrooms with water views. In February, the Los Angeles Times reported that Lynch had purchased an oceanfront home in Oahu, Hawaii, for $1.1 million. The Hawaiian home has five bedrooms, three bathrooms within 2,831-square-feet and on a parcel that is 9,516 square feet, the newspaper said.
