BATON ROUGE - A one-year-old was reportedly struck by a vehicle early Thursday (Jan. 14) morning, before sunrise.
Representatives with the Baton Rouge Police Department say the crash occurred around 3:10 a.m. within the 12000 block of Florida Boulevard, near the intersection of Nassau Drive and Florida.
Officials described what happened, explaining that as the toddler s caregiver put the child down, a passing vehicle came along and clipped the one-year-old.
Police say the driver of the vehicle has been charged with hit-and-run and reckless operation

MILTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. â Police responded to a crash on US-12 Friday evening.
The crash happened near M-60âs off ramp, according to the Cass County Sheriffâs Office. They say a pickup truck struck a pedestrian, who was riding a non-motorized scooter, adding that the driver of the pickup stopped and called authorities after the impact.
Weâre told the pedestrian was taken to Niles Lakeland ER for injuries sustained in the crash.

BERMUDA DUNES, CA A pedestrian fatally struck by an SUV in Bermuda Dunes was identified Friday as 48-year-old Palm Desert resident.
Regina Avila suffered fatal injuries at 5:25 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Washington Street and Hidden River Road, according to the Riverside County Sheriff s Department.
Deputies sent to the scene found the victim in the roadway. Despite first responders attempts to save her, Avila was pronounced dead at the scene, sheriff s Sgt. Deanna Pecoraro said.

The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene and is not thought to have been intoxicated at the time of the crash, the sergeant said.
York Cops Looking For Gunman In Saturday Shooting
(York, PA) Police in York are continuing to search for the gunman in a shooting over the weekend. A 42-year-old man was found shot on the first block of East College Avenue Saturday afternoon and was taken to a local hospital. He is expected to survive. Alba Castro De Rep was hit when she stepped in front of an oncoming vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. The 62-year-old’s death is being considered an accident.
