A third teenager in the vehicle suffered injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
The crash was reported about 4:30 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Springfield Avenue and Montague Road.
Police say the driver of a northbound Pontiac Vibe was attempting to turn onto Montague when it was struck by the Toyota. The Toyota, with three occupants inside, then struck a pole. All three people were ejected from the vehicle, according to police.
A 14-year-old boy and 15-year-old boy were killed.
May 10, 2021 - 3:07 PM RCMP in Tappen have been cleared of any wrongdoing with respect to a motor vehicle collision following an investigation by B.C. s police watchdog. The chief civilian director of the Independent Investigations Office of B.C. determined that on April 22, 2021, around 5:25 p.m., officers responding to reports of a disturbance at a residence in Tappen did not interfere with a blue Pontiac Vibe believed to be connected to the incident, according to an IIO media release issued today, May 10. Officers were travelling in the opposite direction when they passed the Pontiac Vibe, travelling erratically in the opposite direction, IIO said.

The Pontiac Vibe was a compact five-door hatchback produced between 2002 and 2009 for the 2003 through 2010 model years, with production discontinued following the end of the Pontiac brand. Now, vehicle valuation and automotive research company Kelley Blue Book has recognized the Pontiac Vibe in its list of the top 10 Best Used Compact Cars Under $5,000.

The Pontiac Vibe was jointly developed by General Motors and Toyota, with the latter producing the Toyota Matrix as part of the joint venture. Interestingly, Kelley Blue Book also lists the 2004 Toyota Matrix in its list of the top 10 Best Used Compact Cars Under $5,000.
