Mysore/Mysuru: The trial run or route inspection of ‘
Ambaari,’ a specially-built open roof top double-decker bus to identify the potential obstacles dangling electricity and cable wires, tree branches and LED illumination sets on procession route, electricity poles and arches began in city this noon. This was the second route inspection of the bus.
The ‘Ambaari’ is a Hop-on and Hop-off initiative for tourists to experience the magnificent City of Palaces and other heritage and cultural structures.
Armed with four linemen from Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC), four officials from Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC) which owns the bus along with a driver and another KSTDC staff, the bus started its journey from Mayura Hoysala Hotel (KSTDC Office) on JLB Road and proceeded towards Field Marshal K.M. Cariappa Circle (Metropole Circle), Vinoba Road, Hunsur Road and reached Kalamandira junction and later proceeded towards Kukkar

Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Court has sentenced a Bengaluru-based lady driver to six months imprisonment besides imposing a fine of Rs. 2,000 after she was found guilty of rash and negligent driving resulting in the death of a two-wheeler rider on Feb. 28, 2016 in city.
The sentenced lady driver is Girija Swamy, wife of Ravikanthaswamy of Bengaluru.
On Feb. 28, 2016, Krishna, a Security Guard of an ATM, was proceeding from Columbia Asia Hospital side towards Fountain Circle on his two-wheeler when Girija Swamy, who was driving a car, hit the two-wheeler from behind near Shobha Garden, resulting in Krishna suffering from serious injuries. Though Krishna was admitted to a city hospital, he succumbed to injuries after three months.
