Skowhegan Outdoors to offer hiking, skiing and more during February Share Skowhegan Outdoors has announced its February outdoor activities. New Moon Hike, a beginner-friendly new moon night hike, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 11. This program will take place at Yankee Woodlot at 7 County Drive and is a little more than 1-mile long. Throughout the hike stops will be made to look at the stars. Without the light of the moon, the star viewing should be quite a sight. Cross Country Clinic and Ski, a fun, back-to-basics afternoon clinic on cross-country skiing, will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, at Lakewood Golf Course, 803 Lakewood Road, Madison. Technique, healthy warm-up activities will be covered while playing games to practice getting comfortable on skinny skis.
