WASHINGTON The House impeachment team submitted a pretrial brief Tuesday asserting that Donald Trump encouraged violence repeatedly ahead of the insurrection Jan. 6 at the Capitol and bears responsibility for the deadly mob that tried to undo his electoral defeat allegations Trump’s legal team quickly denied in their brief.
The filings were the first preview of the arguments to be presented in the Senate impeachment trial beginning next week.
