Ring o’Bells on Church Street (now the church car park) was built in 1822 and demolished in the early 1950s WE have already looked at The Salter the best known of the lost Weaverham pubs, so now we look at the rest of them this week. We are starting with the Ring o’Bells, not the one in Northwich Road but the original situated at the end of Church Street in what is now the church car park. It was built in 1822 with Margaret Corker as the first tenant and continued to serve the folk of Weaverham and, dare I say it, the people leaving St Mary’s church next door.
A new outdoor sensory room has been unveiled at Seeros Central Daycare Nursery.
The outdoor shed, which had previously been destroyed by teenagers, has now been refurbished to provide sensory input for children with sensory needs or have ASD needs (autism spectrum disorder).
Last March, the Church Stile nursery was targeted by a group of teenage boys on several occasions, who damaged the outdoor soft play equipment, as well as setting AstroTurf alight, and melting a plastic roof for an outdoor shelter.
Now the room has been fully adapted to cater towards its patrons’ unique sensory needs. Children who have sensory issues may have an aversion to – or purposefully seek out – anything that triggers their senses, such as light, sound, touch, taste, or smell.
