Even as the country battles the coronavirus crisis, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, or KCR as he is known, has ordered a probe into allegations of land grab in Medak district of the state.
Mr Rao has instructed the Chief Secretary to get an investigation done by the district collector on the complaints of encroachments of lands on the outskirts of Achampet in Masaipet Mandal in Medak district, get a comprehensive report and submit it to him.
The Chief Minister also instructed senior police officer Purnachandra Rao to find out the facts. The vigilance team has begun the probe with digital surveys being conducted in the area.
A day after allegations of land grab surfaced, Telangana Health Minister Eatala Rajender was stripped of his portfolio. CM K Chandrashekar Rao will now oversee the health ministry.

For the first time, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has raised allegations against a sitting minister, that the Telangana Health Minister has allegedly been involved in a land grabbing case and KCR has passed orders for a detailed inquiry into the issue, Rao said. Etela Rajender said that he is ready for an inquiry and hearing by the sitting Judge, he added.

Telangana Health Minister Eatela Rajender is facing land grabbing charges. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has ordered a probe into the matter after receiving complaints of land grabbing from the assignees.
The opposition parties demanded on Friday that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao order an investigation into the deals of all the TRS Ministers, MLAs, MLCs, and MPs facing land encroachment charges, and not just Eatela Rajender.
They questioned as to KCR was silent when minister Malla Reddy and MLA Muthireddy Yadagiri Reddy faced allegations of land encroachments.
KCR takes over Health Portfolio from Etala Rajendar: Telangana Health Minister Etala Rajendar has been facing land allegations and the news broke out yesterday. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao arranged a press conference immediately and ordered an investigation against the incident.
