17-year-old injured in shooting in southeast Columbus

Updated: 11:43 AM EST February 13, 2021 COLUMBUS, Ohio Police say a 17-year-old boy was injured in a shooting Saturday morning in the southeast area of Columbus. Around 1:40 a.m., the teen arrived by private vehicle at a local hospital. Police say the victim initially stated he was walking with a friend near the intersection of South Ohio Avenue and East Kossuth Street just north of East Whittier Street when a Chevy vehicle pulled up near them. An unknown passenger started shooting at the teen and his friend. The victim was shot one time in the abdomen. He is now listed as stable.

Friday night, Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 200 block of Rainbow Drive for a disturbance. As Officers arrived, they observed one individual punching another. Bobbie Joe Gregory, 56, of Sedalia, was arrested and resisted arrest after being placed in handcuffs. Charges of Domestic Assault in the 4th Degree and Resisting Arrest are being submitted to the prosecutor.   Early Monday morning, Officers on patrol found two unattended bikes in the area of East 16th Street and South New York Avenue. The bikes were transported to the Police Department for safe keeping.

Sunday evening, Sedalia Police performed a traffic stop on a green Ford SUV, as the license plate was expired. The traffic stop took place in the area of West 12th Street and South Osage Avenue. Officers spoke to the driver, and then performed a computer check through Dispatch, where it was learned that he had a felony probation violation warrant from Johnson County on original charges of Tampering With A Motor Vehicle. Tony L. Lawson, 44, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail with a $15,000 cash only bond.
