Under reforms from new Los Angeles County DA George Gascón, the suspects in two cases involving the decapitation of two kids, and the shooting ambush of two deputies, will both be eligible for parole after serving 20 years in prison, if convicted.

He did well: The labourer from Milford Haven, Pembrokeshire, got to the final with another contestant, gambling their £200 winnings for a final go at the dart board. Black Hawk County Sheriff Tony Thompson has announced this year’s Deputy of the Year and Civilian Employee of the Year, according to KWWL. The Deputy of the Year was awarded to Detective Steve Haas. He was recognized for doing an exemplary job, getting certifications and training experience. The Employee of the Year was awarded to Jesse Meyer who is a Detention Officer. Meyer was recognized for his self motivation as well as his actions in saving the life of an inmate whose heart stopped due to a seizure in the intake area.
