Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) said on Friday, May 21, that it was forced to move its flights to the new concourse of the Los Angeles International Airport starting June 1. Effective June 1, 2021, PAL will be forced, over our protest, to move our flights departing and arriving at Los Angeles to the new Midfield Satellite Concourse (MSC) of the Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT) at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), PAL said in a statement.
PAL said the MSC gates are in a separate concourse that is connected to the main TBIT area through an underground tunnel.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) may start on weighing passengers, particularly the overweight and obese, on the gates of an airport, and decide whether they are eligible to get on a specific flight. Before this, bags for check-in and hand carries are the ones taken into consideration. However, the FAA is wary of aircraft overload that may endanger an entire flight.

Last Thursday, the US Centers For Disease Control and Prevention announced that fully vaccinated Americans can stop wearing masks and no longer worry about social distancing. In Los Angeles, county officials are still reviewing whether to ditch face coverings. But for now, masks are still required if entering any LA County business or a crowded indoor area.
The California Department of Public Health and LA County officials are reviewing the federal guidelines, but have not issued any changes since the CDC’s announcement. It’s a technical issue really, as California counties cannot make changes until the state does so first.
