Police recovered an unlicensed firearm and arrested three suspects after a high-speed chase and shoot-out on the R63 near Bhisho Hospital on Friday.
The drama unfolded when police drove past Bhisho Park, where they spotted a stationary Toyota Tazz with a driver and a passenger in the back seat. A third suspect immediately jumped into the back seat when he saw the police stopping.
“The suspects’ vehicle then sped off and drove down the R63 towards Komga,” said police spokesperson Capt Khaya Tonjeni.

Johannesburg - Siphelele Magudulele from Protea North, Soweto this week became a victim of an alleged kidnapping ring that has residents in and around Joburgâs southern suburbs living in fear for the safety of their children.
The 18-year-old was allegedly accosted by two males at around 3pm on Tuesday, said to be in their late 20s or early 30s.
While all this was happening, the third man sat in the driverâs seat.
The one pointing a gun ordered him to get into a white Toyota Tazz.

Two
people died and two others were injured – including a 4-year-old girl – in a
collision in Motherwell in the Eastern Cape on Monday.

to police spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu, a white Toyota Tazz with four
occupants – the driver, two women and a child – were travelling from Sandile
