“McCartney III Imagined” is a revisioning of 2020’s “McCartney III,” featuring remixes, features and covers from some of the biggest names in modern music including Phoebe Bridgers, Beck, Radiohead’s Ed O’Brien and Damon Albarn of Gorillaz and Blur. Released April 16 and born in the throes of lockdown, the record finds Paul McCartney, a legend within his own right, bringing together artists from an assortment of genres like hip-hop, R&B, alternative rock and indie. In a livestreamed conversation with Ed O’Brien, who remixed “Slidin’,” McCartney said the artists were given no guidelines and encouraged to make his music their own.

Massive Attack s 3D calls out music industry inaction on climate change

Massive Attack’s Robert Del Naja (AKA 3D) has criticised the live music industry’s response to the climate crisis while addressing MPs on environmental issues at festivals, saying that he’s “pretty livid” about the industry’s lack of action to reduce its carbon footprint, despite making green pledges. “It’s been frustrating to experience the lack of meaningful activity within our sector, and as an activist, I’ve also felt pretty livid about it,” he told the House of Commons Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Committee, as reported by the BBC. “The industry seems to have been locked in a cycle of green pledges and carbon calculations while emission rates remain really high.”
