VAN WERT – Kelly (Walls) Lloyd, a 1977 graduate of Mendon Union, and John Schimmoeller,
a 1991 graduate of Ottoville, were inducted into the Vantage Hall of
Fame during the 43nd Vantage Career Center All Boards Dinner and Alumni
Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on April 8.

VAN WERT COUNTY The Lincolnview Local Board of Education met Thursday evening in the Neubrecht
Lecture Hall. The highlight of the meeting was the appearance of Van
Wert County s latest spelling bee champion, Lincolnview eighth-grader
Lindsey Hatcher. She told the Board, It was a great experience for me. Hatcher is now required to take a test to see if she will qualify for regional competition.

DELPHOS - Mary Jane Gonyea, 85, of Delphos passed away Saturday morning at her residence with her family by her side.
She was born March 14, 1935, in Middle Point to Herbert and Lydia(Neer) Meyers, who preceded her in death. On June 8, 1957, she married Lavern Gonyea, who preceded her in death on Nov. 5, 2010.
Jane is survived by her son, David, and her daughter, Angie (Sam) Miller, both of Delphos. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Sarah Miller and Cora (Dan Gardner) Gonyea; and three great grandchildren, Maelynn, Morgan Jane and Maxwell Gardner.
She is also preceded in death by her son, Dan; and her grandso, Nathan Miller.

Developmental screenings for children ages 3-5 will be offered to residents of the following Van Wert County school districts: Lincolnview, Parkway, Spencerville, and Wayne Trace, and Delphos City Schools in both Van Wert and Allen counties.
The screenings will be held at Thomas Edison Early Childhood Center on North Franklin Street in Van Wert on Friday, February 12. Screening times are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m
., and appointments can be made by calling Thomas Edison Preschool at 419.238.4019, extension 0, between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Children will be assessed in the areas of height, weight, vision, hearing, language, cognition, gross and fine motor, self-help, and social-emotional skills. Following the screening, results will be shared with parents or caregivers. This assessment provides families with an opportunity to see how their child is progressing in relationship to children of the same age.
