The prosecutor s office of the Dominican Republic on Tuesday requested up to 10 years in prison for the six defendants in a corruption trial involving disgraced Brazilian firm Odebrecht.
Four politicians, including a former minister of public works, a businessman and a lawyer are accused of accepting a total of $92 million in bribes between 2002 and 2014.

Santo Domingo, 28 Jul 2021 (AFP) - O Ministério Público dominicano pediu nesta terça-feira penas de até 10 anos para um ex-ministro e outros cinco acusados em um julgamento marcado pelo escândalo da construtora brasileira Odebrecht, que admitiu ter pago propinas para obter 16 obras no país.
A Justiça da ilha caribenha processa quatro políticos, um empresário e um advogado vinculados a pagamentos de mais de 92 milhões de dólares.
Em meio ao julgamento, iniciado em agosto de 2018, o Ministério Público solicitou a um tribunal de Santo Domingo que dite 10 anos de prisão contra Víctor Díaz Rúa, ex-ministro de Obras Públicas, acusado de receber propinas da Odebrecht para beneficiá-la com contratos públicos. A mesma pena pediu para o empresário Ángel Rondón, acusado de distribuir propinas a políticos e funcionários dominicanos quando era representante comercial da Odebrecht, enquanto sobre o advogado Conrado Pittaluga, suposto cúmplice

Le parquet de la République dominicaine a requis mardi des peines allant jusqu à 10 ans de prison à l encontre des six accusés, dont un ex-ministre dans le cadre du procès du scandale des pots-de-vin du géant brésilien du BTP Odebrecht pour obtenir des contrats dans le pays. Quatre homme politiques dont un ex-ministre des Travaux publics, un homme d affaires et un avocat sont dans le box des accusés pour ces malversations qui ont atteint 92 millions de dollars (82 millions d euros) entre 2002 et 2014 en République dominicaine.

At the end of a three-year trial, the prosecution asked for 10 years in prison for Angel Rondon, a businessman and Odebrecht commercial representative who distributed the bribes, as well as 10 years for former minister Victor Diaz Rua.
