GSA awards contract to North Billerica business Community Content The following was submitted by the U.S. General Services Administration: The U.S. General Services Administration recently announced the awarding of a $44,507,000 contract for the design and construction of a new state-of-the-art Land Port of Entry in Madawaska, Maine, to J&J Contractors Inc., a small business based in North Billerica. Also accepted but not yet awarded is an optional line item for a new commercial inspection building for an additional $5,400,000. J&J Contractors Inc. was awarded the contract following a Design Build Solicitation in October 2020.  The LPOE project, happening concurrently with the International Bridge project, is intended to provide the residents of Madawaska, Maine; Edmundston, New Brunswick; and the entire region, a long-term, safe and efficient flow of current and projected traffic volumes, including the movement of goods and people between the neighboring communities.
