Raynham police charge Middleboro man with possessing stolen gun

RAYNHAM  A Middleboro man accused of illegally possessing a gun stolen from California is being held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing. Police say Robert Perry, 21, was arrested Wednesday and charged with carrying a firearm without a license, illegal possession of ammunition, receiving stolen property, operation of a motor vehicle with a suspended license and operating an unregistered motor vehicle. An officer on routine patrol on Route 44 came upon a white Toyota Corolla sedan about 10:30 a.m. that came up with an expired registration in the Registry of Motor Vehicles database, police said. The officer conducted a motor vehicle stop and police say he identified the driver as Perry, who had two female passengers, including one of whom the car belonged to and who Perry was driving home.

Man, 55, arrested for bank robberies in Taunton and Raynham

Roger Viveiros Taunton Police Department A 55-year-old man who allegedly robbed two banks in Taunton and Raynham in the past month was arrested Saturday as he was about to attempt a third robbery, authorities allege. Roger A. Viveiros was taken into custody outside Santander Bank, at 188 Broadway in Taunton, according to a joint press release from Taunton and Raynham police. Around 10 a.m. Saturday, Taunton authorities received a call from a resident who reported he recognized a blue 2003 Toyota Camry that had parked outside his house as the one used by the suspect in the robbery of the bank on Nov. 27, officials said. The resident also recognized the driver and said he was the same man later identified as Viveiros, of Taunton who robbed the bank last month and wearing the same clothes.

Suspect in Mansfield bank robbery, charged with holdups in Taunton, Raynham

MANSFIELD — A Taunton man arrested over the weekend for allegedly robbing two banks in his city and one in Raynham is also a suspect in last week’s holdup of a Citizens Banks branch at Stop & Shop, police say. The suspect, Roger A. Viveiros, 55, was arrested outside a Taunton bank with a note demanding money, police said. He was ordered held without bail Monday after arraignment in Taunton District Court and is scheduled for a dangerousness hearing Wednesday, according to the clerk’s office. The Citizens Bank robbery occurred last Wednesday afternoon and Mansfield Police Chief Ron Sellon confirmed Monday that Viveiros is a suspect.

Man Charged With Unarmed Robbery of Banks in Taunton, Raynham TAUNTON A Taunton man has been arrested and charged in connection with bank robberies in Taunton and Raynham. In a joint press release, Taunton and Raynham Police report that Roger A. Viveiros, 55, of Taunton is charged by the Taunton Police Department with unarmed robbery, attempting to commit a crime, and intimidation to steal from a depository. He is also charged with unarmed robbery by the Raynham Police Department. He was scheduled to be arraigned today in Taunton District Court.
