In the middle of January, the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic was cresting. Holiday travel and gatherings pushed case numbers and hospitalizations higher and the outlook was not good. With the health care crisis worsening again, James Demetriades assumed a leading role in the fight. Demetriades was named CEO of Penn Medicine Princeton Health, an institution where he had spent the last 17 years of his career.

Trenton and Mercer County are expanding vaccine access through new walk-in clinics in each ward and a county mobile unit to reach a greater population of residents.
Starting this week, Trenton is adding a total of 2,000 Moderna vaccines to four new vaccination sites, which are designated for city residents and located in each ward. Out of the total number of vaccines, 200 vaccines are allocated for the city’s public schools staff.
