Erica Higgs and her family, on the other hand, are veteran campers. The more remote the better, says Higgs, of Poughkeepsie, who does tent camping with her 5-year-old daughter, husband, and dog, Noodle Bean. The attraction to us is being away from people.

Camping is hot thanks to pandemic
After initially bracing for an economic disaster as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic campgrounds were closed for much of the spring many New York campgrounds and RV resort operators ended up having a banner year in 2020 as people went camping in record numbers, according to the Campground Owners of New York (CONY).

The longtime campground was acquired in November 2020 by Ocean City, Md.-based Blue Water Development.
Located north of Lewes and Rehoboth Beach, Delaware Beaches Jellystone Park joins Blue Water’s group of twelve East Coast RV resorts. The company operates seven parks on the Delmarva peninsula.
Blue Water has been working on what it described as a “multi-million-dollar program of infrastructure enhancements and new family-focused amenities, including the splash pad and water slides, upgraded WiFi, revamped playground, expanded camp store, new campfire features, updated RV sites, and renovated arcade with new games.”
