DOZENS of patients at a GP in Ombersley have defended the surgery after they were accused of allowing young people to ‘queue jump’ to receive the Covid-19 vaccine. Last week, we reported that a member of the public was concerned after claiming young people were being vaccinated at Ombersley Medical Centre and then ‘boasting about it on social media.’ When asked whether the accusations were true a spokesman for the Clinical Commissioning Group said: “We’re unable to comment on individual cases as we continue to vaccinate our local community in line with the JCVI guidance. “However, where there is a risk of vaccine potentially being wasted, it is sometimes necessary for us to vaccinate outside cohort.”

20 April 2021 The security impact of shadow IT Gemma Moore, director at Cyberis, discusses the impact that shadow IT can have on security throughout the organisation
There is an array of risks to consider when it comes to shadow IT.
Shadow IT is invisible to you. It might not be covered on your asset lists, because your asset management lists are incomplete. It might have no assigned owner, either because it doesn’t fit neatly into any business unit, or isn’t related to any current operational priorities but hasn’t been fully decommissioned yet. It might have been installed outside of usual processes, either without authorisation or because usual processes were overridden.
SECOND doses of the coronavirus vaccine are now being given in Herefordshire, with an NHS leader urging anyone called up to head to the centre. The NHS says the second dose acts as a booster jab to enhance immunity to Covid-19 and offer a greater protection against infection. Regardless of whether a patient has had the Oxford/AstraZeneca or Pfizer/BioNTech jab, a second dose will need to be given around 12 weeks after the first. Dr Mike Hearne, a partner at Fownhope Medical Practice and Managing Director of Taurus Healthcare, the federation of the county s GP surgeries, urged people to stick to their appointments.
The Three Counties Showground, based in Malvern, Worcestershire, plans to open next week and is the fourth vaccination centre to open across the two counties. This is another significant milestone in the growing vaccination programme across Herefordshire and Worcestershire following the opening of the Artrix Theatre in Bromsgrove, which opened in January and St Peter’s Baptist Church in Worcester and Elgar House in Hereford opening last month. The site at the Three Counties is being run by SW Healthcare and plans to begin vaccinations from Tuesday 2 March. SW Healthcare, who also run the Artrix Theatre and St Peter’s vaccination centres is a federation of GP practices in Worcestershire.
