The parents of 12-year-old Christina Cochran haven’t seen their daughter in nine days.
Chatham Police are looking for her. So are Savannah police. They’ve called in help from the FBI, and on Wednesday, officers were canvassing at Savannah Gardens apartments, the area where police believe she was last seen.
Cochran is believed to be a runaway, according to a release from Chatham County Police Department. None of her family members who live in the area have seen her since 7 p.m. May 17, and repeated efforts to locate her and confirm that she is safe have been unsuccessful.
Christopher Cochran, Christina’s father, stood before TV cameras at the crosswalk of Savannah Gardens on Wednesday morning, tired. He spoke initially to the public, then addressed Christina directly, through the lenses trained on him.

SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) A Georgia police chief showed support Friday for two officers being investigated in the shooting of a 71-year-old man outside Savannah.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation was called in to handle the case Thursday night. The agency said preliminary information shows the two Chatham County police officers opened fire on Vincent Gadson after he picked up a gun that he had set down on a chair on his porch.
Gadson was being treated at a Savannah hospital Friday and his condition was stable, the GBI said in a news release.

CHATHAM COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) - The Chatham County Police Department has arrested a suspect after a woman was reportedly attacked and sexually assaulted inside a Berwick grocery store on Tuesday, April 27.

Gregory Hathorne, 25, has been charged with felony rape, felony kidnapping and misdemeanor battery.
Chatham County officers were called to the Kroger grocery store located on Ogeechee Road in the Berwick area at approximately 6:30 p.m. to respond to a sexual assault.
The victim, an adult female, told police she was attacked and raped by a stranger in the Kroger restroom. Chatham County Police Chief Jeff Hadley says the victim and suspect had no prior contact and that the suspect was new to the area.
