PLANS to scrap face coverings in the final step out of lockdown has sparked a fiery debate among Echo readers. Nearly 600 people shared their views in response to our Facebook post alone, which asked whether readers plan to still wear a face mask even after July 19 – when final restrictions are set to be lifted. In an Echo Twitter poll, 917 people voted with 59.7 per cent saying they would not wear a mask after July 19. From the final step in the roadmap out of lockdown, originally expected to take place on June 21, there will be no legal requirements to wear face coverings.
