Sunday, April 11, 2021 James William Jennings of Colorado Springs, Colorado, died Sunday, April 12, 2020 at the age of 88. Jim, as he was known to friends, family, and colleagues, was a petroleum engineer by training and education but would try his hand at almost anything, usually with successful results. Throughout his life he was an early adopter of broadcast and computer technology, building a color TV and a home computer from kits for his family. He was also a ham radio operator, broadcasting under the callsign W5EUT. Born in Luling, Texas, on September 23, 1931, Jim graduated high school at age 16. Afterward, his family moved to Wolf Creek Pass, Colorado, where they built log cabins and furniture to open a guest ranch. Jim returned to carpentry often throughout his life, building everything from custom cabinets for his house in Texas and his daughter’s house in Colorado Springs, to furniture and musical instruments: his creations included several guitars and violins, a mand

Daughter of Elizabeth (Hamlin) Arnold and Philip E. Arnold, Mary was born on April 25, 1937, in Worcester, Mass. She grew up in western Massachusetts and southern Vermont, graduated Jacksonville (Vt.) High School in 1955, matriculated at the University of Vermont, where she met her future husband, Jim Peabody, and graduated in 1959 with a B.S. in Home Economics. Mary and Jim were married on Sept. 5, 1959, in Jacksonville, settled first in Vergennes, Vt., and subsequently moved to Bristol, Vt., where they have lived for 59 years.

Jim Crockett Jr., who ran what was generally one of the two strongest U.S. wrestling promotions for most of the period from 1976 until 1988, passed away on 3/3. Jim Crockett Jr., who has been suffering kidney issues in the past, contracted COVID-19 some time back and never recovered. Due to his prior health issues, it hospitalized him and led to his kidneys and liver failing. He made the call this past week to remove himself from dialysis after being told that his organs were failing and went into Hospice care. Crockett Jr, 76, promoted pro wrestling from 1974 through 1995. He took over control of Jim Crockett Promotions, a company started by his father in 1935, after his brother-in-law, John Ringley, was supposed to take over after “Big Jim’s” death on April 1, 1973 of a heart attack at the age of 63. Legendary Promoter Jim Crockett Jr Passes Away

Legendary pro wrestling promoter Jim Crockett Jr. has passed away at the age of 76. The news of Crockett’s passing was first announced on Facebook by WWE Hall of Famer Robert Gibson of The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express. “Rest In Peace Jim Crockett, Jr. You will be missed by so many,” Gibson wrote. Crockett’s passing comes just days after he went into hospice care with kidney and liver issues. Crockett Jr. was part owner and operator of the legendary Jim Crockett Promotions from 1977 until 1989. The company, which ran affiliated with the NWA, was started by his father, and was sold in 1988 to Ted Turner, who re-named it WCW. Crockett Jr. was a three-term NWA President, last serving in the role in 1991.
