A Pentagon police officer and a suspect have both died following an incident at the Pentagon Transit Center Tuesday (August 3) morning.
Law enforcement sources told
Austin William Lanz, of Georgia, stabbed Pentagon officer
George Gonzalez in the head from behind, disarmed him and used the officer s gun to shoot him.
The source said Lanz was likely killed by a gunshot wound as a result of the incident, but it was unclear whether it was self-inflicted or by responding police.

ARLINGTON, Va. The Pentagon Force Protection Agency (PFPA) identified the officer killed in a stabbing-turned-shooting near the Pentagon Metro station Tuesday morning.
Pentagon Police Officer George Gonzalez was a Brooklyn, New York native and a 3-year veteran of the Pentagon Force Protection Agency, according to PFPA. The FBI says Gonzalez was attacked without provocation by a man, later identified as 27-year-old Austin William Lanz of Acworth, Georgia, when he stepped off the bus at the Pentagon Transit Center.

THE suspect in the fatal stabbing of a Pentagon police officer used the cop s own gun to shot himself after the unprovoked attack, according to the FBI.
Austin William Lanz, 27, ambushed George Gonzalez, 30, a Pentagon Force Protection Agency (PFPA) officer, as he patrolled the Pentagon Transit Center on Tuesday morning.
