Hyundai’s new Ioniq 5 electric car will be priced from £36,995 when it arrives in showrooms later this year.
Built on Hyundai’s dedicated battery electric vehicle (BEV) architecture called Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), the Ioniq 5 will be available with a range of powertrain configurations.
Buyers can select from three battery and drive types initially: a 58kWh rear wheel drive with a range of up to 240 miles, a 73kWh rear wheel drive with a range of up to 300 miles, or a 73kWh all-wheel drive with a range of up to 287 miles.
The range-topping all-wheel drive option produces a combined power output of 225kWh and 605 Nm of torque – enough to deliver five second acceleration to 60mph.

Hyundai has just announced the prices and specifications of its first E-GMP based Ioniq 5 model, in the UK, where it will be available with 58 kWh or 73 kWh battery, and with RWD or AWD powertrains.
There will be three main hardware configurations:
58 kWh rear-wheel drive with WLTP range of
up to 240 miles (386 km)
72.6 kWh rear-wheel drive with WLTP range of
up to 300 miles (483 km)
72.6 kWh all-wheel drive with WLTP range of
up to 287 miles (462 km)

Hyundai has announced pricing and range details for its the new Ioniq 5 electric crossover for the UK market.
The new Hyundai Ioniq 5 will start from £36,995 (that’s the U.S. equivalent of $45,000) and will be offered with RWD and AWD powertrains, the choice between a 58 kWh or a 73 kWh battery pack, and 800-volt charging as standard, which means you can plug it into a 350kW rapid charger and reach an 80 percent charge in just 18 minutes.
The charging time with the onboard 10.5 kW charger is just shy of 5 hours for the small battery and just over 6 hours for models with the bigger battery.
Highland Spring Group, one of the UK’s leading producers and suppliers of drinking water, has launched its most environmentally sustainable Eco Pack to date using Coveris’ Duralite R film.
The next generation 100 percent recycled and fully recyclable Duralite R shrink film supports the Highland Spring Group’s’ journey to using entirely recycled materials across its packaging portfolio. The multipack launched in January and is being trialed at 270 Sainsbury’s stores across the UK.
Coveris’ fully recyclable Duralite R polyethylene film features entirely recycled content comprising 50 percent post-consumer recyclate (PCR) and 50 percent post-industrial recycled material (PIW). Supporting a circular economy for plastic packaging, the 50/50 blend of recycled content achieves a 54 percent carbon footprint reduction compared to virgin materials. Highland Spring’s Eco Pack is the first significant brand launch using the Duralite R range.
