South Sudan appoints Shilene Booysen new Womenâs coach
The South Sudan Football Association (SSFA) has appointed Shilene Booysen the new head coach of the senior womenâs national team, Bright Starlets.
Booysen who holds a CAF A License was recently the Performance Analyst for South Africa s team at the 2020 COSAFA Womenâs Championship.
âWe are happy to have Booysen as a new head coach to help us develop the national womenâs team,â said the SSFA President, Francis Amin Michael,
South African Booysenn was announced as the new coach on Wednesday on a two-year contract. She has also worked in the National Womenâs Soccer League in South Africa as an Assistant Coach with the Houston Dash.

Cecafa rescheduled the whole programme of the tournament after disqualifying South Sudan following a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) test that revealed four players were over-aged.
Meanwhile, the South Sudan Football Association met with the players for the first time since they were ejected out of the tournament.
“South Sudan Football Association (SSFA) today has held a meeting with a delegation of the national U17 team to encourage and restore the youngsters’ hope, following their disqualification from Cecafa 2020 U17 zonal competition,” the federation said on Monday.
The nations would have played on Saturday at Umuganda Stadium in Rubavu but South Sudan’s disqualification from the junior tournament forced Cecafa to rearrange and reschedule the matches.
South Sudan were disqualified after four of their players were found to be overage after Magnetic Resonance Imagining (MRI) tests were carried out before the tournament.
The tournament is picking speed as Kenya and Ethiopia have already played. The two rivals fought and drew 2-2 on Sunday in a match where Oliver Page’s stars were destined for a win before Ethiopia rallied back to pick up a point.
James Gathongo had given Kenya a 14th minute lead with a low shot after Ethiopia were caught off guard in their own half. After Ethiopia had equalised in the 61st minute, Kenya were rewarded as they grabbed the lead again in the 84th minute when Umar Rajab tapped home from close range.
